Polly the rescue goat is blind, has neurological problems and is vastly underweight. She also suffers from severe anxiety. Lucky for Polly, her rescuer (Leanne Lauricella from Goats of Anarchy) is willing to do just about anything to help her live a normal and happy life. Yet, not even she knew a duck costume for kids purchased at Marshalls would have such a profound impact on the goat.

Polly, who is known to run around frantically crying if she can’t find her owner, goes from 60 to 0 when she wears her duck costume. Lauricella told The Dodo, “As soon as I put it on her, she just instantly got calm.”

“She’ll find a corner of a wall in the house, and she’ll just start sucking on the wall. So all the corners in our house have these little suck marks from her mouth,” said Lauricella.

Those days are no more. Now all Lauricella has to do is put Polly in her duck costume and she calms right down.

“There’s something about that duck costume that calms her. She goes into a little trance. She just closes her eyes and she’s out.”

Goats of Anarchy red hierdie bokkies uit uiters haaglike omstandighede.

Menz het somtyds nog hoop vir die mensdom … net soms. Menz dink daar is te min wat omgee.
